Topramezone: A triketone herbicide that inhibits the HPPD
(4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) enzyme, disrupting carotenoid
biosynthesis.
This leads to bleaching (whitening) of weeds,
followed by complete death due to chlorophyll destruction.
It is rapidly absorbed through leaves and shows both systemic
and contact activity.
